A finalist in the 2019 Saul Bell Design awards, this Bee Ring is a symbol of love.

Honey and Honeybees have long been associated with the human heart and love.

Cupid, the god of love, is said to have dipped the tips of his arrows in honey before firing them, his arrows likened to a bees sting - with the sweetness of love there is always the danger of love's sting.

Honey is thought by many cultures to be a powerful “love potion”, encouraging feelings of attraction and romance. During a Persian wedding, the groom dips his little finger into the jar of honey, and feeds it to the bride. She then does the same for him. This ritual symbolizes that they will feed each other sweetness and sustenance throughout their lives together.

In Armenia the bride and groom eat spoonfuls of honey, given to them by the bride's mother, to symbolize their happiness.

Saint Valentine, as well as being the patron saint of love and romance, is a patron of beekeeping… tasked with protecting the protectors of bees and ensuring the sweetness of honey.

Available in any precious metal set with rubies, sapphires or diamonds of any color. The ring is 5.5mm wide and makes a lovely alternative to the traditional engagement/wedding ring set.

I hear many beautiful love stories from my clients, some of my favorites involve the sea: the marine biologist who proposed with an underwater writing slate whilst diving coral reefs with his partner; a proposal on a tropical island beach under the stars; the man who spent a year at sea circumnavigating the world and proposed to his girl when his boat sailed in.

For those watery love stories, I designed this Wave Ring. Shown here with blue sapphires and diamonds.

The center stone is +1ct, approximately 6 - 6.5mm in diameter.

In the early nineteenth century, it became popular to incorporate personal messages into jewelry. These rings send a message in morse code, both say "Marry me" -- .- .-. .-. -.-- / -- .  using different colored gems for the dots and the dashes.

The sapphires of the wider ring shown spin around.

If your message is short and sweet enough, it can fit on a ring...perhaps a new baby’s name for instance or a secret message of love.
